Ireland submitted its most recent State Report to the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in 2012, covering the period from 2002 to 2010. Therefore the last four years have not been reflected in the State’s report.
The deadline for civil society submissions was 1 October 2014 and FLAC on behalf of civil society submitted Our Voice Our Rights a Parallel Report in response to Ireland’s Third Report under ICESCR.
A pre-sessional working group of the Committee came together on 1 December to revise the submissions and State report and set out a list of questions for the State which will provide them with more information to understand the human rights situation in Ireland before the examination in June 2015.
